JOB SUMMARY
The Base Pilot Supervisor (BPS) is the first line supervisor for the Line Pilots assigned to the base. Conducts local area orientations for all new hire pilots assigned to the base. Monitors pilots at the base and assists in the day-to-day management of flight and administrative issues. The BPS will work in conjunction with the Program Director to ensure the base operates in an efficient, safe, and economical manner. Responsible for all operations involving company aircraft, is in compliance with the Federal Aviation Regulations, Part 135, Air Evac EMS Operations Manual and all state or municipal regulations


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
* Performs duties of Base Line Pilots
* Provides leadership and training to Base Line Pilots
* Monitors pilots at the base and assists in the day-to-day management of flight and administrative issues.
* Briefs pilots conducting work-over's at the base regarding local procedures, local Inadvertent IMC procedures, and other pertinent base specific procedures
* Ensures annual safety training is conducted at each assigned Emergency Response Agency and Hospital
* Ensures the aircraft cleanliness is enforced based upon the established cleaning policies and procedures
* Develops and coordinates with the Regional Director of Flight Operations the pilot duty schedules for the line pilots assigned to the base and will include provisions for a work-over or area pilot for filling scheduled and unscheduled open pilot shifts
* Coordinates with the Program Director the flight planning activities and resources for mission support at the base
* Coordinates the aviation activities associated with public relations events
* Reviews, corrects, and submits to the Regional Director of Flight Operations each base pilot's monthly flight/duty log in the required time frame
* Submits all assigned base pilot's payroll grids to the Regional Director of Flight Operations
* Monitor maintenance requirements and assists base mechanic in the scheduling of aircraft maintenance
* Monitors the base refueling system and submits fuel system reports as required
* Assists Facilities with base compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations
* Maintains a schedule as set forth by the company. Pilots are scheduled seven consecutive days on and seven consecutive days off. The shifts are 12-hours per day alternating with seven day shifts, seven days off, followed by seven night shifts.
* Ensures aircraft readiness for flight dispatches, these items to include, as described in the appropriate manuals, but not limited to: * All FAR requirements * All Company requirements* Aircraft cleanliness duties * All flight crew requirements
Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner at all times.
* Performs other duties during scheduled shift as requested by Vice president of Aviation or Chief Pilot.
* Maintains safety as the primary concern.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
Minimum Qualifications
* Current FAA Commercial Certificate with rotorcraft
* Helicopter instrument rating
* Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate
* 2,000 Total flight hours
* 1,500 Total Helicopter Hour
* 1,000 total helicopter PIC hours
* 1,000 Hours Turbine
* Minimum of 200 helicopter night flight hours (aided and/or unaided)
* 200 Instrument Hours (Actual / Hood / SIM) 50 Hours Actual WX in Aircraft
Preferred Experience:
* H135 Experience preferred
* Two years Previous HAA experience preferred
* One year experience with Air Evac Lifeteam preferred


Education:
* High school diploma or equivalent

WORKING CONDITIONS AND MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Working Conditions:
* Required to work frequently near moving mechanical parts
* Required to work in outside weather conditions
* Frequently exposed to blood-borne pathogens or airborne particles
* Exposed to loud noise levels requiring hearing protection while in-flight

Physical Demands:
* 230 pound weight limit with flight suit and boots
* Regularly reach with hands and arms
* Frequently required to sit for long periods of time
* Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
* Frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds
* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
* Frequently exposed to vibrations/turbulence

Pilot Incentives:
* Geographical Modifier dependent on Base
* On Duty Pilot Housing provided
* $2,000 per year IFR Stipend
* $5000 per year Base Pilot Supervisor Stipend
