JOB DESCRIPTION:Grant funded position available for performing varying standardized laboratory assignments and experiments.
Qualifications
Min Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in basic science or equivalent and 2 years of related experience or Master's degree in basic science or equivalent and no experience required.
Specific Job Related Duties:
Cell culture development
Maintain lab for rat, mouse, Drosophila experiments
Ensure environmental safety compliance and other compliance as and when needed.
Maintain lab inventory of supplies and equipment.
Have computer proficiency to develop databases and maintain records.
Cataloging and maintaining human and rodent tissue banks which will require proficiency in databasing and associated bookkeeping skills that is routine in drug development.
Prepare biological assays and conducts quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Maintain records of all tests performed and data collected and provide preliminary analysis of results.
Assist in the compilation and tabulation of data and analysis of final data.
Ensure the accurate assembly, calibration, operation and modification of a variety of laboratory equipment as defined by appropriate guidelines.
Providing training as and when needed for rotating students and other visiting scientists.
Adhere to internal controls established for department.

Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences preferred with bench experience in animal handling, organizational skills and Good Lab Practices.
Preferred Work Experience:
Cell Culture experience preferred.
Drosophila Genetics experience preferred.
Rodent survival surgery experience preferred.
Developing Proficiency in Western Blot Analysis, Coimmunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Flow Cytometry.
Microscopy experience preferred.
