The May Center for ABA Services in Wilmington, Massachusettsis currently seeking a compassionate and dedicatedDirect Behavior Therapistor Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).In this position you will work directly with children between the ages of 1 and 6 who have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder or a related developmental disability.You will be trained to provide state-of-the-art instruction based on the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA). Instruction will be individualized to the child and designed to increase social, communication, and play skills and decrease behavior problems.This instruction will occur at our Randolph Center for ABA Services and/or the child's home setting. You willreceive supervision from an experienced Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who will provide ongoing training, feedback, and support.






Responsibilities:







  • Implement specially designed programs that include developing academic, play, communication, social, and daily living skills.


  • Record data and document of how each child responds to their programs, their behavior and their progress each day.


  • Graph data to illustrate child progress over time.


  • Submit narrative reports of each session and hours worked every day.


  • Attend staff meetings as scheduled.






Qualifications:







  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Child Development, or related field preferred.


  • ABA experience and/or knowledge of special education preferred.


  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children.


  • Experience working with children who have developmental disabilities preferred.


  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.


  • Ability to interact with children (i.e., running and implementing physical intervention strategies if necessary).


  • Comfortable working with children who display behavior problems.


  • Understanding of proper professional and communication boundaries in terms of families and supervisors.


  • Ability to defer to supervisors in program development, modification and report writing as appropriate.
