Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr Principal Systems Engineer to join the Command and Launch Team. This position will be located in Roy, UT and support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here.
The selected engineer will work with the architecture, systems engineering, and test teams to develop a cohesive model-based architecture supporting the total system lifecycle, participate in technical reviews, and provide customer support.
The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Space System team supporting the Air Force's Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. This will include development, production and deployment of Launch Equipment hardware and systems for each weapon system facility. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact with users, customers and other engineers.
The successful applicant will:

  • Provide systems engineering, integration, and test support
  • Apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications
  • Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for mechanical, electrical and integrated systems
  • Perform requirements analysis, develop source data for requirements specifications, generate test requirements and prepare test reports
  • Verify specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, test data processing, and performance analysis
  • Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including design, drawings, fabrication, test, installation, operation and maintenance
  • Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements
  • Interface with AF customer

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.



Qualifications:




Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university with 9 years of related experience or a Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university with 7 years of work experience, 4 years of related experience with an PhD
- US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Recent experience with DOORS
• Experience with ICBMs (MM, PK, Small Missile)
• Experience with requirements derivation and allocation
• MBSE experience with Cameo and/or Rhapsody
