Northrop Grumman Space Systems is searching for an experienced Sr. Principal Engineer Software DevSecOps to support the Next Generation Interceptor Program within Launch Vehicles business unit at the Chandler, AZ facility.
The successful candidate for this position will lead a group of engineers for the DevSecOps Software Factory design and implementation and system administration for Launch Vehicles. Support the design, procurement and instantiation of a Software Factory to operate across a multi-site network. Monitor and maintain the operation of the software factory to support high reliability program execution and manage user accounts. The candidate will develop schedules, task a cross functional development team, track, and report team process to the software team lead. The candidate will also be expected to interact with the other divisions within the company, partner organizations as well as the end customer.

Essential Functions:
• Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
• Purchases hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
• Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
• Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.

Qualifications:




Basic Qualifications:

  • 9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.
  • The ideal candidate shall possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with a minimum of nine (9) years of experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • A security clearance or the ability to obtain a security clearance is required.
  • Ability to travel 10% or less is required.
  • Candidates should have experience with large software systems and the full software development lifecycle
  • Experience with software development (Java/Javascript, C++, C# or any modern object-oriented language) and its life cycle
  • Experience with build tools (i.e., Maven, Ant, GNU make) and/or continuous integration environments (i.e., Jenkins)
  • Experience with virtualization (i.e. VMWare)
  • Experience with Windows and Linux administration
  • Prior experience with DevSecOps and/or Software Factory implementation
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with Linux and Linux based software development tools
  • Experience with Client/Server application software development
  • Experience with Virtualization technology
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using either Ansible, Chef or an equivalent
  • Experience with CMM/SEI or equivalent software development process
  • Integrate complex systems that facilitate continuous build, continuous integration, continuous test, continuous deployment
  • Must have direct experience with build tools (i.e., Make, Gradle) and continuous integration environments (i.e., Jenkins)
  • Strong direct experience background in Agile methodology
  • Experience with source code configuration management tools (i.e git, svn)
  • Ability to automate software builds and releases via Jenkins & Nexus
  • Experience with space craft or launch systems software development is highly desired.
  • Certification from VMWare and Cisco is desired
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
Active Secret Security Clearance is preferred.
