Job Summary

The Test Floor Production Senior Operator is responsible for setting up and operating various equipment used in processing production/engineering material on the test production floor. This position will adhere to production, quality, and company policies and procedures to run the processes. The Senior Operator will have a substantial understanding of the operations and apply the acquired knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks and operations. This position works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.

Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:


  • Follows detailed work instructions to run the processes on the test floor. This position will run the test floor processes associated with the area of responsibility and manages equipment by output priority. Moves to different work stations as needed to meet production requirements
  • Follows 6S protocols: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety
  • Monitors the processes that are being ran per work instructions and identify non-conforming products or processes. Communicates probable cause for non-conforming material
  • Track production lot processing by entering detailed information into the company's Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
  • Detects errors in production flow and/or production material and utilizes protocol to correct errors. Troubleshoots MESA issues
  • Communicates issues clearly and thoroughly with Engineering and Maintenance and provides recommendations for improvements in process and practices
  • Collaborates with Shift Lead and Shift Supervisor on solutions
  • Perform various Process Technician activities: read Build Sheets; create data logs for Engineering; inspect failed image Tape & Reel; setup equipment for Engineering debug (new products). May perform less complex activities such as: laser scribe, wet saw, AOI and Tape & Reel recipe creation and QA inspections
  • Perform various maintenance activities: Tape & Reel and saw conversions and assist with preventive maintenance with probers
  • Ensure training certifications are up-to-date. Proactively maintains expertise in all areas where certified.
  • Trains others to achieve certification

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)


  • 3+ years of experience in Test Floor operations

  • Experience using various computer equipment and systems such as Outlook Email and Excel, a tracking and ticketing system, and a document control system. Experience using Agile to make corrections and updates and experience performing minor troubleshooting of MESA work in progress tracking issues. Understands details of processing procedures across multiple work stations

  • Understands working of equipment and computer systems where trained/certified (wafer level testing, Statistical Process Control in Tween, data collection/tracking in Hi-Rel).
  • Experience following training guides and procedures while focusing on quality
  • The ability to have good judgement to make recommendations/improvements to specifications
  • The ability to train others on operations to a high level of process/equipment understanding; trained and certified in multiple operations
  • Manages time and priorities; the ability to multi-task on more than one piece of equipment/priority. Produces good output while ensuring all output meets quality standards. The ability to adhere to schedule and adjusts schedules to meet production commits
  • Able to problem solve, troubleshoot minor equipment/process issues, analyze and report data to Lead/Supervisor/Engineer
  • The ability to work well with others in a team environment and the ability to collaborate with Shift Lead and Shift Supervisor
  • The ability to communicate effectively within a shift and between shifts and with Engineering and Maintenance Technicians . Understands nuances of Test Floor production operations and impact on inter and intra shift communications
  • Ability to respond to written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to lift production floor equipment such as wafer carriers, up to 20 pounds
  • The ability to handle difficult or complex situations in a professional manner
  • Self-motivated; Seeks additional work when idle and seeks opportunities for personal growth. Looks for opportunities to improve processes, procedures and good manufacturing practices

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience reading and understanding specifications and procedures including technical drawings such as build sheets
  • The ability to understand when issues should be escalated

Education Requirements


  • High School Diploma required, college courses or degree preferred

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
