Reporting to Business Development Director, the Associate Key Account Manager (AKAM) is responsible for supporting the overall revenue, profit and relationship management for the assigned retail account(s) within the U.S. Retail Business.

The AKAM will support the full range of business segments including: Lab Rx Services, Lens Substrate, Anti-reflective Coatings, Accessories and Lab Enablement Services across ZEISS Branded, non-branded and OEM product portfolios.

The AKAM will seek to increase CZV revenue, volume, profit and share of wallet by supporting the development and execution of quarterly and annual business plans and value-added product, programs and services that uniquely meet the needs of the retail key account.

We are looking for people who are keen to try something new:



  • Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, annual revenue targets as communicated by Director/SVP.

  • Organize and facilitate business activities between CZV and Retail Merchant team including quarterly/annual business review and business plans.

  • Support development and implementation of key product initiatives, merchandising, promotion, training, education and value-added programs to achieve CZV and Retailer business goals

  • Translate the unique advantages and benefits of CZV products and services to retail merchant and coordinate cross-functional activities and communications across retailer's internal merchandising, operations and support teams

  • Become a champion of the retailer's strategies and business goals to support its retail locations, opticians and doctors

  • Track and assess customer KPI's and store feedback and take corrective actions with internal cross-functional departments (e.g., Supply Chain, Quality, IT, Customer Care, Rx Operations)

  • Develop and deliver high impact, customer relevant, and financially supported proposals

  • Prepare and track sales and volume forecasts to support budget and demand planning cycles

  • Conduct point of sale and order/shipment analyses to uncover key trends and insights; Prepare and present key findings to SVP / Director.

  • Gather and analyze competitive data; communicate findings and recommendations.

  • Provide timely and continuous input to Director/VP to ensure plans are on track

  • Perform any and all necessary functions to ensure that sales meet objectives.




You are:



  • Minimum 3 years account management experience in the ophthalmic or related consumer products industry;

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in experience and certification; MBA preferred.

  • Experience with corporate retail accounts in a fast paced environment preferred

  • Experience in the optical industry or ophthalmic sales preferred

  • Demonstrated customer-centric results

  • Professional approach to selling techniques, negotiation skills and customer relations

  • Project management, including the ability to develop, implement and execute ideas and recommendations and drive processes and projects to completion in an environment with many competing priorities

  • Strong interpersonal and cross-functional team skills

  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.

  • Problem solving and decision making in a complex and changing environment.

  • Strong organization and planning skills

  • Financial skills in budgeting, forecasting, and analytics

  • MS Office Suite with emphasis on PowerPoint and excel

  • Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM preferred

  • Ability and willingness to travel
