Job Description:

As part of Prudential’s CFO organization, the Vice President, Financial Reporting and Head of Corporate P&A is a key leadership position that works closely with all of Prudential’s businesses and corporate areas.  This individual will lead a team of professionals in the Corporate Planning & Analysis unit (within Corporate Controllers) reporting to the Corporate Controller.  The team is responsible for the Company’s GAAP and Statutory financial statement forecast process/deliverables.  The team is also responsible for management reporting of quarterly results, primarily in support of the CFO/Controller regarding the quarterly earnings call and Board reporting.  The position provides value-added and insightful analytics about the Company, serving as a primary interface with key members of Finance senior leadership and business unit Finance teams.  The position also leads the forecast redesign transformation effort (i.e. DPC)

Responsibilities for this position include:


  • Lead the GAAP and Statutory FP&A unit

  • Partnering with the CFO, Controller, Treasurer and working closely with other senior finance leaders, lead and drive the financial planning process at the firm level

  • Direct responsibility for preparing the quarterly GAAP and statutory financial statement forecast as well as the Risk Based Capital forecast

  • Preparation of the annual and quarterly RBC calculations, including ownership of RBC filings

  • Support and participate on M&A transactions teams as well as project teams for other significant transactions (e.g. strategic, investment transactions, capital management solutions)

  • Oversight for quarterly CFO earnings preparation process as well as Board Reporting, including the annual multi-year plan review

  • Continue to evolve and strengthen planning processes including direct oversight for the Forecast transformation effort

  • Position has significant interaction with other corporate functions (Enterprise Strategy, ALM, Tax, Treasury, Statutory and GAAP Reporting, Corporate Actuarial) as well as the Business Unit finance areas

  • Position has significant interaction with Senior Management

Qualifications:


  • Strong analytical abilities

  • Knowledge of GAAP and statutory reporting rules and regulations

  • Deep modeling skills

  • Strategic and capable of delivering new insights to senior management

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage and develop staff

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and effectively prioritize

  • Ability to build collaborative relationships and influence them consistently without authority

  • Comfortable presenting to, and interacting with, Senior Management

  • Undergraduate/Graduate degree in business (accounting preferred)

  • Advanced designations (CPA/MBA) a plus

  • Prior experience in FP&A or Financial Reporting a requirement
