JOB DESCRIPTION:

Workplace Counsel provides professional legal advice and counsel on workplace and corporate issues, managing litigation, including single plaintiff and class actions, guiding and leading compliance initiatives, and managing administrative claims and audits and internal investigations. This position engages in legal negotiations of settlements of cases and/or matters, reviews and prepares policies and procedures, legal memoranda and related documents, and leads, develops and/or implements compliance initiatives. The Workplace Counsel trains HR and Operations teams on relevant workplace topics.



* Provides legal advice and counsel on workplace and corporate issues with minimal supervision, managing litigation, including single plaintiff and class actions, guiding and leading compliance initiatives, and managing administrative claims and audits and internal investigations.

* Engages in legal negotiations of settlements of cases and/or matters, reviews and prepares policies and procedures, legal memoranda and related documents, and leads, develops and/or implements compliance initiatives. Assists on larger, nationwide issues.

* Trains HR and Operations teams on relevant workplace topics.

* Reviews and oversees outside counsel on workplace-related issues.

* Serves as company's subject matter expert in at least two major areas of workplace laws. Applies wage and hour, discrimination, and leave of absence/benefit laws and concepts.

* Coordinates information and documents related to internal investigations and litigation matters, applying case handling and litigation strategy with minimal supervision. Assists in complex investigations and litigation under supervision of more senior attorney or General Counsel.

* JD degree and licensed to practice law in California

* Minimum four years of relevant experience
