LMI is looking to hire a Health Policy Consultant to join our team in support of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) within HHS. Work will be primarily conducted at LMI headquarters in Tysons, VA. Travel will vary, dependent on contract requirements.

Responsibilities
Work with a team in support of health systems compliance with federal requirements, including the development of system processes, methodologies and implementation of procedures.
Assist in the design, development, and updates to the healthcare program processes, data, and their associated systems.
Testing client web applications, writing test cases, executing test scripts, and capturing bugs and issues in JIRA.
Assist in client User Acceptance Testing by providing client testers with functional support, review and validate issues, and work with development team to address valid issues
Plan, perform, lead and review programmatic documentation, contracts, and regulatory waivers under defined timeframes and budgets.
Draft reports and communications.
Assist in the preparation of training materials and staff development.
Further responsibilities include:
Plan, perform, and lead and review documentation, contracts and regulatory waivers at the enterprise level and/or of diverse and complex regulations and businesses;
Design and perform programmatic procedures, including identifying and defining issues, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting processes;
Establish and build working relationships with internal and external management; Communicate the results of reviews to management (written reports/oral presentations); and
Help lead staff during program reviews of data and provide feedback on work performed.
Capture requirements, needs, and features through user stories and define acceptance criteria
Contribute to development of test strategy and plans and independently create detailed test cases/scripts that thoroughly test requirements and acceptance criteria
Qualifications
An ideal candidate will have the following: strong knowledge and expertise in federal health regulations including the Affordable Care Act; strong analytical skills, strong communication skills, both verbal and written; and strong problem-solving and logical reasoning skills.
Bachelor's degree
3+ years of relevant work experience preferred.
Strong background and understanding of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
Ability to learn how to test ACO website
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to absorb and analyze large amounts of new technical and policy knowledge without a lot of guidance
Experience with advocating for technical platforms to augment analytical processes and deliverables, including input into IT business requirements
Work with colleagues to continuously improve monitoring processes.
Excellent communication skills including business writing, and ability to make presentations to various audiences.
Participate in client meetings to provide updates on progress and findings.
Maintain security and confidentiality of all protected health information encountered during performance.
Well organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Effectively manage multiple deadlines and prioritize assignments.
