Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope®, a CRH company, is the leading supplier of products specified to close the building envelope. They include: custom-engineered curtain wall and window wall, architectural windows, storefront systems, doors, skylights and architectural glass.

The Estimator is responsible for the accurate summation of all project costs through analyzing architectural drawings and specifications. The Estimator reviews architectural drawings, technical documents, and other associated documentation to complete take-offs, pricing, and ultimately provides an accurate proposal to the customer. You will interface regularly with sales and the production teams to work collaboratively to deliver objectives that meet customer needs and market demands. Future opportunities exist in Grand Prairie as well as opportunities at other OBE locations throughout the U.S.

 

Responsibilities

 

• Provide detail reviews of shop drawings and/or architectural drawings and specifications.


• Provide detailed estimates to our customers in a timely manner.  Work from architectural drawings and specifications, shop drawings or elevation take-offs.


• Follow up on estimates and provide feedback concerning market pricing levels.


• Achieve acceptable sales and margin levels.  Monitor actual vs. estimated costs and work with estimating manager to adjust standards accordingly.


• Provide consultation, coordination, and assistance to our customers, sales force and internal personnel.


• Maintain detailed and organized records of bid documents, correspondence and other project specific information.

 

Experience and Qualifications

 

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or business-related degree is preferred.


• 5+ years industry experience is required.


• Must have strong MS Word and MS Excel Office Skills.


• Organized with the ability to handle numerous projects and prioritize workload.


• Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing.


• Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and specifications.


• Knowledge of aluminum glazing systems and their applications.


• Working knowledge of fabrication and installation in order to have a good understanding of customer’s needs.


• Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision


• Strong geometry and math skills.
