If you are a cell biologist and mastered advanced light microscopy, we want to hear from you. Bruker develops, manufactures, and distributes the Vutara VXL microscope optimized for single-molecule localization microscopy (SMLM) of biological samples in Neuroscience, Genomics, and Cell Biology. We are looking for a candidate who enjoys interacting with biologists from world-class academic laboratories, troubleshoot applications, and represent Bruker at conferences and trade shows.
Responsibilities

Support sales, product management, and marketing teams
Discuss with customers regarding applications, hardware, and software of the Vutara VXL system and perform remote and on-site demonstrations
Help with system installation at customer site and train customers
Support customers after sales with application development and instrument operation
Work with customers, product management, and external collaborators to develop new application fields.
Work with product management and marketing to create application notes and marketing material
Give presentations about applications and system capabilities at customer sites, conferences, trade shows, and webinars
The successful applicant might be responsible for setting up and maintaining a cell biological oriented application laboratory
Essential Functions:
20% demonstration of systems to customers (on-site and remote)
20% help customers to optimize biological applications for SMLM experiments.
20% marketing support (presentations, helping with marketing material, presence at exhibitions and workshops)
10% installation and customer training at customer site (mainly within mainland US, international occasional)
10% scientific collaborations with key customers and opinion leaders
10% support of software development and R&D, including testing
10% sales training
All assignment proportions are approximately and might change based on business requirements.

Qualifications
Environmental Requirements:
Up to 50% travel both domestically and internationally on short notice
The position is located in San Jose (CA) or Madison (WI)
Able to work in bio-laboratory environments
Able to lift equipment weighing up to 80 pounds and work in tight space
Able to work with image processing software and images presented on a computer screen
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The successful candidate has engaging communication skills and can explain complex concepts to customers, the sales force, and the marketing team.
The position requires proven expertise and hands-on experience in cell biology, including establishing and setting up of cell cultures and using high-end fluorescence microscopy (preferable super-resolution microscopy, but other methods like confocal microscopy might be sufficient)
The candidate must perform all biochemical, cell biological, and data analysis workflows necessary for super-resolution experiments without supervision.
The candidate has to discuss biological concepts and super-resolution technology with academic Principal Investigators and students.
Excellent presentation skills are a prerequisite. Advanced expertise in PowerPoint, ImageJ, and other presentation and image processing software is required.
Excellent bookkeeping skills are a must.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Ph.D. in Cell Biology, or related field is preferred
Must have at least two years of experience in advanced fluorescence microscopy
Practical cell culture and biochemistry experience are required
