The Research Associate's primary function is to provide laboratory technical assistance to support the goals and objectives of the laboratory or center. The individual assists in the design and execution of experiments, development of protocols, manuscript preparation and grant applications, and assists in supervising and coordinating various research projects that fall within the scope of approved protocols. Responsible for interpretation and reporting of results and maintenance of sample databases. Assists in the performance of experiments using a range of techniques including tissue and cell culture, and molecular, and biochemical analysis. Additional responsibilities include training staff and students, be responsible for laboratory safety and follow good lab practices.
