Job Description:

Job Summary


As a New Product Introduction Hardware Engineering Program Manager, you will plan and manage engineering programs to develop NetApp's products. You will lead a cross functional team, within NetApp's matrix organization, focused on driving program execution following NetApp's engineering and life cycle processes. This includes working with the core team to develop program plans, schedules, budget, and risk assessments, as well as coordinating program activities, leading meetings, capturing minutes and action items, preparing presentations, conducting reviews, publishing program status, and providing program focus on open issues and driving problems to resolution.

Experience Required

- Demonstrated program management experience driving the work of hardware, software and firmware development engineers on complex system development projects from product definition through successful product release and transfer to manufacturing and sustaining engineering.

- Experience building and leading geographically diverse, cross-functional teams, multi-national/cultural program team (including Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Management, Marketing, Customer Service, Quality Assurance, and more).

- Development of program scope, goals, plans, schedules, budget and resources.

- Experience keeping a program on schedule or crashing a schedule to ensure release on time

- Experience with continual monitoring of spending to ensure program stays on budget.

- Demonstrated ability to track and communicate program execution to all levels within the organization.

Demonstrated Skills Required

- Excellent written and verbal communication with attention to detail and ability to tailor communication to audience and different levels in the organization.

- Excellent interpersonal skills are essential. Establishing strong relationships is critical to success.

- Excellent knowledge of product lifecycle, tools, processes, and operations planning.

- Ability to provide leadership in a team environment to meet aggressive goals and pre-defined metrics requirements.

- Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.

- Program Management training and equivalent program management experience in hardware and software development.

- Ability to work on complex issues where analysis situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

- Fluent in Microsoft Office tool set (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), SharePoint, Confluence, Oracle, Jira, Tableau are required. Exceptional Excel skills desired.

- Familiar with standard project management tools and web publishing tools.

Interaction:

- This individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level employees within the function, across functions and with external parties (contractors, partners, suppliers).

- Limited supervision is provided, as this individual can operate, drive results, and set priorities independently.

- The ideal candidate is a self-starter and will be a proactive contributor.

- To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through leadership and influencing multiple individuals and groups.

- The ideal candidate often acts as mentor or facilitator.

Education

-Bachelor's Degree

-5+ years' experience leading high-tech engineering programs

-Limited travel
