Schneider Electric has an outstanding opportunity for a motivated individual to assume the role of Quality Control Technician at our Smyrna Plant. This position is accountable for assisting the Engineering, Quality and/or Manufacturing departments in the areas of quality testing, product audits, inspection, resolution of non-conformance items, and applications support.

Reporting directly to the Quality Control Supervisor, the person in this role will perform final inspection and testing of medium voltage switchgear, and will perform customer witness testing as required to demonstrate equipment conformity and functionality prior to shipment. The Inspector/Tester will troubleshoot and coordinate the repair of defective products at the Smyrna Plant and provide quality performance feedback to various plant departments. He or she will provide Engineering, Quality and/or Manufacturing with reports and records of testing, inspection, and quality audit results, and will prepare and maintain inspection and test procedures to comply with applicable standards. Responsibilities also include keeping detailed records of results and recommendations and providing reports; plus training others on technical and quality issues and methods.

This job might be for you if:

• The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of AC and DC circuits, an understanding of 3-phase electrical power, excellent interpersonal skills.
• Relevant experience, preferably hands-on experience with inspection, testing, and/or maintenance of medium voltage switchgear.
• A minimum 2-year technical degree required, 4-year degree preferred. Must be willing and able to perform work activities while standing for long periods of time.
• Combination of education and work experience will be considered.
• Candidates considered for this role must be able to work 3:30 p.m. - midnight Monday - Friday, and overtime on shifts and weekends when required to meet customer demand.
