Under close supervision, provides individual, group, and family counseling therapy and/or other mental health, chemical dependency or developmental disabilities services that improve clients' well being while enhancing and improving provider's own intervention skills.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides such direct services as counseling, psychotherapy, education, crisis intervention, case management services, etc.
Documents all service-related activities, including time spent per activity per client, mileage accrued, charting, staff notes, etc.
Participates in supervision and/or professional development activities.
Participates in Quality Improvement or SCS-wide activities.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Special Education, or Human Services.
EXPERIENCE
Three to six months of volunteer work or structured, experiential learning (e.g., practicum or learning lab) in field of behavioral health or developmental disabilities.
Good interpersonal skills.
Basic knowledge of mental health, chemical dependency or developmental disability issues.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS
Position has no unusual physical demands.
Position may occasionally require walking or standing, stooping or bending.
May involve occasional exposure to threat of bodily harm (e.g., from clients or their families).
Normal work tasks involve no exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue, but employment may require performing tasks on an unplanned or occasional basis that involve exposure to those substances.
May require driver's license.

Coordinate medical and psychiatric care
Knowledgeable on medication-assisted therapy
Deliver trauma-informed treatment
Understand development milestones (for those who serve children and youth)
