A week in the life of an Asset Manager:


  • Run logistics and asset management at a Government-owned/Contractor-operated facility in Northern Virginia hosting test events for a suite of Electronic Healthcare Record applications.

  • Apply knowledge of DPAS asset management requirements, Federal Supply System, and automated and manual supply systems as well as equipment serviceability standards and criteria.

  • Apply experience with one or more DPAS-compliant asset management toolsets.

  • Use DPAS-compliant toolset to provide acquisition logistic support for all software and hardware assets including sustainability, reliability, maintainability, and availability of the system's components for both.

  • Use DPAS-compliant toolsets to support software license management.

  • Provide support preparing logistics documentation to establish the range and depth of spares, tools, test equipment and related manuals to be deployed and stocked.

  • Determine maintenance and repair materials and standards required for deployment.

  • Develop requisitions for and manage records of equipment, components, repair parts and related manuals; track logistics materials and parts for proper allocation of storage facilities; review configuration changes to evaluate impact on logistics deployment; document equipment, component and parts conditions; and identify logistic support documentation to be included such as drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance requirement cards to support lifecycle of products.

  • Analyze, organize, plan and administer various phases of day-to-day provisioning, spares, or maintenance/repair activities for one or more programs.

  • Review and take action as needed on contractual documents, technical data, customer usage data, customer maintenance practices, customer operation characteristics, and related reports for assigned contracts to determine spares provisioning or maintenance/repair requirements. Identify, prioritize, and assess key logistics assets and infrastructures.

  • Control inventory of all parts (in use or spare) to provide maximum uptime on all equipment.

  • Manage the daily efforts of the junior Asset Manager to ensure that inventories are complete and accurate, consistent with DPAS requirements, and reported to Property Book managers in a timely manner.

  • Manage shipping and receiving of materials, to include inventory, quality checking, documenting, communicating with shipment stakeholders

  • Analyzing incoming shipments against packing slips, invoices / purchase orders and report on incomplete or damaged items per documented procedures.

Requirements


  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance

  • Onsite presence M-F at facility in Chantilly, VA

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in IT-oriented facility asset management skillsets.

  • Understanding of DPAS asset management requirements.

  • Understanding and experience with Software Asset Management (SAM)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CAC.

Required Skills


  • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks in order to accomplish goals on a given timeline.

  • Excellent communications skills, including to interact with DoD customers, as well as contracted entities.

  • Ability to effectively use one or more DPAS-compliant tools to accomplish the duties described above.

  • Ability to distinguish among the variety of IT licensing models and ascertain general benefits and risks of each

  • Attention to details, ongoing commitment to clearly identify discrepancies, and effectively communicate them to stakeholders per procedures.

  • Ability to mentor junior staff.

Preferred


  • Security+ cert

  • Asset Management Professional Certification a strong Plus

  • Basic knowledge of IT equipment, e.g. switches, laptops, servers, etc., and Defense Health Agency (DHA) medical devices
