Technician
Reports to:Laboratory Technician Manager
Location:Plymouth,MI
Main purpose of the role
To support the execution of testing projects related to the validation of bearing and sealing systems and to support product development and to helpmaintainthe test laboratory
Key accountabilities
Perform test setups/teardowns on laboratory testequipment
Buildtest assemblies according to drawings and testspecifications
Performmeasurements on testsamples
Inspectand document condition of samples after testing
Instrument samples with thermocouples, load cells, accelerometers
Monitor test andmaintainlog sheets
Assistwith identification, handling, and storage of laboratory samples
Perform maintenance on test equipment
Contribute to improvement of test equipment
Fabricate,modify, assemble test fixtures as necessary
Participate inEHSactivities
Support building facility activities (shipping/receiving, general maintenance,etc.)
Performother duties as assigned

Abilityto read and interpret mechanicaldrawings
Abilityto work on feet forlong periodsandlift upto 40 lbs.
Ability tor bend, kneel and work in tight spaces
Ability to work in an environment with oils, occasional oil fumes and high and low frequency noise levels
Education requirements
High School Diploma
Technicaltrade school training or associate degree at a university level is preferred
Work experience
Minimum of two years of experience in a testing laboratory or related technical field
Knowledgeofcalibrationand instrumentation a plus
