What You’ll Do:

As a PMO Manager, you will play a key role on the CEP Strategy and Product Delivery Team, collaborating with our Partner Success leaders to ensure your assigned portfolio of partner programs deliver on-time and on-budget, all in service of delighting and supporting teachers and students.

You will have a keen attention-to-detail and your focus on quality will guide your work as you schedule, project-manage, and orchestrate the development of program deliverables across multiple workstreams. You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and active listening skills that will support your successful navigation of these workstreams across matrixed teams of subject matter experts that includes Video, Web, Curriculum, Marketing, and Design. You’re the kind of team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has the ability to see around the corner, anticipating opportunities to connect dots and problem-solve in a proactive manner.

When you join our team, you will work closely with the Head of Program Management to influence and contribute to the development of project management methodologies, standards and tools, collaborating with department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop workstreams while upholding Discovery Education’s standard of excellence. You will establish deadlines, prioritize tasks and assign team members to various deliverables and analyze financial data, including project budgets, risks, and resource allocation while contributing to the drafting of new and improving existing project management office policies and processes.

We know that tools are our friends as we scale our reach, and you will exhibit a comfort level working in Asana and utilizing other project management software in the management, coordination and communicating out of your work.

What are we looking for?

Your previous experience demonstrates your success at Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Controlling and Closing out projects on time, within budget and with desired results.

We are looking for individuals with proven project management skills, very strong written and verbal skills, demonstrated ability to be highly organized and schedule driven, have a learning mindset, and are ready to work in a professional and timely business model with a keen sense of urgency to be successful.

A Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is advantageous.

Requirements:

Mission-Driven: Passionate about Discovery Education's vision to transform teaching and learning, experience in education or ed-tech industry a plus but not required.

Professional Experience: 2-5 years in a related role in which project management skills were a central component of the work. A cool, calm and collected approach to problem solving.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required; preferably in business, marketing, administration, communications, or another related field.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication as well as strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teammates across the organization; an effective listener to understand the many variables associated with project management and communicate priorities with a positive, solution-oriented mindset.

Collaborative: Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Team builder, not turf builder.

Hustle: The courage and confidence to work hard and with passion; maintain consistency and focus over time with a positive “never give up” attitude.

Self-Motivation and Self-Starter: The ability to do what needs to be done without being micromanaged; ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks, proactively manage numerous projects, and prioritize competing timelines; demonstrate a problem solving/ solution-oriented approach.

Learning Orientation: Always willing to learn something new, not rigid in beliefs or expectations.

Sense of Humor: Because we all need to laugh sometimes.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Asana, Smartsheet or other similar project management software, proficiency in presentation design (Keynote or PowerPoint), Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook and Office Suite.

Familiarity with Jira and agile development a plus.
