We are currently seeking a Tax Accountant to join our organization. The purpose of this position is to prepare and manage multi-state monthly and quarterly sales and use tax returns.
Job Functions:
Prepare and manage multi-state monthly and quarterly sales and use tax returns
Provide support for outside preparer of Company's multi-state personal property tax returns
Prepare annual business licenses and annual reports for multiple jurisdictions.
Assist in preparation of annual budget for property and sales tax
Review customer tax certificates and communicate with customers when corrections are warranted
Prepare occupational tax returns
Maintain Vertex/Avalara Tax Decision Maker
Respond to audit inquiries for sales and use tax as well as property tax audits
Perform other duties assigned
3508 Headquarters Office Qualifications include:
Associate's degree in Accounting
3+ years of relevant tax experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Thorough understanding of sales and use tax compliance in multiple jurisdictions
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with employees and customers regarding tax matters
Experience with tax research tools
Experience with Vertex or Avalara sales tax software
Manufacturing experience a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Access, Experience with General Ledger Systems (JD Edwards Enterprise One or Oracle NetSuite, a plus)
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in order to meet deadlines
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
