Job Description
Job Summary:
Under general direction of the Director of Facilities Operations, manage the following programs:
Environmental compliance
Health and Safety, ensuring safe work areas and practices for entire company.
Develops, implements, and monitors company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. Maintains safety equipment inventory, performs periodic safety inspections, monitors hazardous waste removal vendors, and may assist in consolidating hazardous wastes (chemical, radioactive, and/or medical). Interacting with a variety of departments, conducts training in emergency response, hazardous material handling, industrial hygiene, life safety, and ergonomic compliance-related activities. Recommends corrective action where environmental health and safety hazards exist. May have a role in the administration of the worker's compensation program and the implementation of workplace ergonomics and program solutions. Monitors environmental compliance and industrial health compliance.
Participate in building floorplan and cleanroom design meetings to provide professional input regarding tool installations.
Maintain existing fire suppression systems and oversee the design and installation of new systems including gas cabinet design and as needed.
Maintain Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO), schedule service and repairs.
Maintain Waste Neutralization System, (PH adjustment) as required.
Coordinate E-waste, scrap metal, chemical waste pick-up, and the destruction of ITAR and EAR waste material.
Coordinate all aspects of Insurance company communications, meetings, site visits, reports, corrective actions, respond to reports and requests for information.
Maintain all required environmental permits.
Coordinate Thermal scanning (IR) of main electrical systems and coordinate corrective actions.
Must be able to respond to after-hours emergency and equipment related calls.

Job Qualifications:
Analytical Problem Solving skills are necessary when analyzing and developing solutions for difficult problems relating to all areas of EH&S and calibration.
Attention to detail is essential ensuring quality of work and documentation when conducting inspections, reporting results, and record keeping.
Collaboration & teamwork required to effectively support all departments.
Effective communication skills (oral, listening, written) required to develop training materials are that clear, concise, and easily understood by all employees
Desire to pursue educational opportunities to continuously learn new approaches, tools and methodologies to stay abreast in the EH & S field is required.
Must take initiative and have flexibility to achieve desired performance results and adapt to changing requirements, special assignments and workload reprioritization.
Strong organization, planning & execution skills are required to maintain inspection schedules, manage multiple safety and training programs. Effective time management is crucial.

Certified Industrial Hygienist or Safety Professional - desired
Registered Environmental Assessor - desired
