Intertek is searching for an Payroll & Employee Services Assistant that is highly detailed, organized, and process-driven to join the Employee Services team in Arlington Heights, IL. The Payroll & Employee Services Assistant will work independently under the supervision of the Team Lead as a reliable and accurate agent to provide a strong customer service experience for our employees.

What you'll do:

  • Process new hires, employee data changes, and terminations in the HRIS and payroll systems
  • Enter payable items or corrections into bi-weekly payroll batches
  • Process payroll, import time files data and ensure payroll is processed within established timeframes
  • eview payroll reports to provide feedback to Sr. Employee Services Lead for corrections or changes before payroll is processed
  • Validate data is accurate in both HRIS and payroll systems
  • Assist with reporting needed for audits
  • Communicate with employees to resolve payroll questions and discrepancies promptly and accurately
  • Assist with acquisitions and payroll transitions
  • Set up new state and local taxing authorities not previously set up
  • Complete various employment verification requests
  • Assist with worker's compensation reporting as needed
  • Process check adjustments, voids, manual check updates, reissues, overpayments and other irregular payroll transactions
  • Serve as back-up to other team members
  • Other projects and special assignments as requested

Qualifications

What it takes to be successful:


  • High School Diploma, Associates degree in business or HR related program preferred
  • 1+ year relevant payroll processing experience in a multi-state environment (required)
  • ADP Payroll experience preferred
  • Proven work experience requiring accuracy and detail-orientation in a deadline driven environment
  • Customer service mentality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced MS Office skills including Word and Excel
