Knitting Overhead Cleaner

SUMMARY:

Use air hose to blow off machine creels, transport lines and walls of knitting department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clean overhead pipes, ceiling and creels using air hose w/nozzle.


• Blow down walls and fixed equipment to keep lint build up to a minimum. Including Fire extinguishers, sprinkler heads, etc.


• Sweep up after each blowdown.


• Apply oil dry if needed around machines while performing job.


• Pick up anything that does not belong in floor or around area.


• Adhere to company policies, including attendance and punctuality


• Communicate with co-workers, management and others in a courteous and professional manner;


• Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions including but not limited to confidentiality requirements.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

• Basic education in reading, writing & arithmetic


• Some knitting knowledge helpful not necessary


• Ability to use air hose


• Good organizational skills


• Self-initiative

• Requires walking, standing for a 8-hour period, excluding scheduled break times


• Pushing & pulling buggies on wheels from time to time


• Bending, climbing ladder when necessary

The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Consistent daily attendance required; occasional off-shift support and limited travel required.
