Opportunity Overview:
The Critical Care Resource Pool RN provides clinical care and uses coordination skills for every patient served. This includes understanding of the expected patients served in the unit'(s) nursing care is delivered using the Eskenazi Health Model of Care-Synergy, the ability to coordinate with the patient and family/loved ones and other healthcare disciplines to ensure care is appropriate to meet patient care needs. Proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health's mission: Advocate, Care, Teach and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County; models Eskenazi Health values.
Our Nursing Resource Pool is aimed at recognizing our nurses' unique knowledge, skills, and expertise, which provides the opportunity for nurses to work throughout our network, in a variety of units. In addition to new employee and clinical core orientation, we ensure team members are provided a departmental orientation per each area they will support/float. What You Can Expect:
Eskenazi Health is a Level 1 trauma center, due to our high acuity team members in this role can anticipate handling/monitoringEVDs, Caminos, traction beds,and more. Candidates must be comfortable independently titrating drips; Levophed, Dopamine, Epinephrine, Phenylephrine, Nitroprusside, Cardizem, Carvedilol, Fentanyl, Propofol, Ativan, and paralytics. Eskenazi Health's Central Staffing employees are provided orientation for all units in which they are eligible to work. We have an immediate need at this time, as we are increasing our units by 9 beds.
Ratio: 1:2 on MICU/SICU and 1:3 in IICU
Beds: 56 ICU and 24 IICU
Am I Qualified:
Minimum of two (2) years clinical nursing experience as an RN in a similar setting (i.e., ICU) that is recent
Active Indiana RN license
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college/university preferred; must obtain within 5 years of hire
Scheduling:
The PRN Pool is all per self-scheduling, with the flexibility for nights, days, or both. Shifts are typically 6:30-7:00; however this can fluctuate based on specialized areas. Eskenazi Health resource pool staffing office provides availability beginning 3 weeks before each 6-week schedule.
Commitment:
Central Staffing nurses can decrease their level of commitment after completion of agreement period of 18 weeks. There are also opportunities to move up within a tier, during the agreement period. Compensation increases with elevated tier commitment
Tier I: 12 hours/pay period; no weekend or holiday requirements (option, following completion of initial agreement period)
Tier II: 24 hours/pay period; 1 weekend shift/schedule and 1 major holiday/year
Tier III: 48 hours/pay period; 2 weekend shifts/schedule (for day shift employees, 1 shift must be Sunday), 1 major holidays/year, and1 minor holiday/year
