Job Role Summary
The Spanish Medical Interpreter PRN provides Spanish medical interpretations when appropriate to various clinics and/or departments within the hospital.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Provides Spanish medical interpretations when appropriate to various clinics and/or departments within the hospital
Serves as a patient advocate for monolingual Spanish speaking patients that require assistance.
Maintains a daily call log to track services provided and submit reports monthly.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree is preferred in any Human Services related field
At least three years of related experience and education will be considered in lieu of degree
Trained in medical terminology in both English and Spanish
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Bicultural in the English and Spanish cultures
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong medical terminology in both English and Spanish
Must have Bridging the Gap or comparable course
