Adult Psychologist Position Overview:
SSM Health is currently seeking a full-time outpatient Adult Psychologist to join our experienced and cohesive behavioral health team consisting of 14 Psychiatrists and about 40Psychotherapists (Masters Therapists and Psychologists)focused on providing quality mental health support to our adult patient panel in an outpatient clinic setting. Our Adult Psychologists should have experience with differential diagnosis, testing, treatment planning, along with group and individual therapy for a wide range of medical, emotional, social and behavioral concerns. This position provides a potential opportunity to collaborate with medical specialties including our Weight Management and Bariatric Surgery teams. Interest and experience in working with a continuum of issues related to eating disorder and other food/body image related concerns preferred.
Monday through Friday workweek
Shared telephone call rotation on nights and weekends
Based in Madison, WI with potential telehealth options

Adult patient population
PHD or PSyD in clinical, counseling, or psychology
Active state licensure by the Psychology Licensing Board
National Register for Health Service Providers in Psychology
Training and experience in use of empirically validated screening and testing instruments to assist with differential diagnoses.
Preferred: Experience with eating disorders in adult patient population

Provides therapeutic psychological counseling.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
Assesses a patient's psychological status and provides appropriate interventions and treatments.
Collaborates with nursing and ancillary services to provide appropriate psychological therapy for patient. Refers patients to other disciplines for consult and evaluations as indicated.
Provides psychological expertise and education to multidisciplinary team. Acts as resource to other disciplines.
Communicates complex/sensitive information to patients and medical team.
Administers and interprets psychological tests used for diagnosing mental and personality disorders and differentiating between organic and functional cases of behavior disorders.
Carries out ongoing record keeping and case review of all psychotherapy work in compliance with State guidelines.
Provides assessment (by telephone and in person) of suicidal and homicidal risk and immediacy of crisis situations.
Provides a continuum of short and long term psychotherapy to individuals, couples families and groups, based on individualized treatment plans.
Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Ph.D or Psy.D in Psychology or related field

Frequent reaching, sitting, standing and walking.
Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).
Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
Frequent keyboard use/data entry.

Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
