Research Associate (Postdoctoral Researcher) Fixed TermPosition Summary
The MSU Center for Statistical Training and Consulting (http://cstat.msu.edu/) is part of Michigan State University's infrastructure for facilitating excellence in research. CSTAT invites applications for a Research Associate (postdoctoral research). We anticipate the start date to be June 1, 2021 (an alternative start date may be negotiated). Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or a quantitative STEM field (e.g. Social Sciences, Natural Sciences) by the start of the appointment, or show evidence that they will receive their degree within six months of that start date.
Candidates must have demonstrated excellence in research in statistics or closely related fields and a proven record of self-motivated research. Experience and interest in scientific computing is required. Strong interpersonal skills and written and oral communication skills, including proficiency with the English language, are essential.
Specific anticipated research topics are one of the following: high dimensional data analysis, physiology and wearable technologies, text mining, natural language processing, Bayesian modeling.
