Location: Duke Hospital, (Morris Infusion Pharmacy) Durham, North Carolina




General Summary



The Morris Pharmacy services all of the hospital based clinics in Duke South and in offsite locations in Durham. The pharmacy also services the non oncology infusion area in 2A and treats approximately 60 patients a day with intravenous chemotherapy, supportive care medications, investigational, and specialty infusions. Hazardous, non- hazardous and chemotherapy drugs are prepared in a sterile USP 797/800 compliant environment. The pharmacy technician also delivers drugs to the Omnicells and maintains them in the clinics. 1st or 2nd year pharmacy student with two years experience as a Pharmacy Technician is strongly preferred for this position.




Work Hours


Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:30 AM-4:00 PM (20 hrs. per week). Willing to work around school schedule.



Minimum Qualifications


Education

Work requires high school or equivalent. Successful completion of a formalized Pharmacy Technician program preferred.



Experience

Work requires a minimum of two years experience as a Pharmacy Technician plus completion of advanced competencies checklist as documented and approved by the Department of Pharmacy. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.



Degrees, Licensures, Certifications

Pharmacy technician certification is required from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration is required.
