The Data Management Operations Specialist will be responsible for the administration, implementation, and support of one or more Database or BI Platforms BI) utilized within the organization.
This position will interact with multiple development phases of large projects to insure data intuitive presentation designs are understandable and provides a rich user experience. The position will also be responsible for administrating the platforms Data Management Platforms for system uptime, performance and application upgrades. Additional responsibilities include role-based security design, usage and improvement of processes and controls governing these applications. Assignment of additional projects and requests to perform analysis and programming addressing challenging tasks can be assigned as needed.
Help create upgrade and project run plans
Implementing run plans
Communication to end users regarding system changes
Communicate with vendors and users planned maintenance downtimes
Documentation of processes and workflows for team knowledge base
Understand and learn workflows to translate between the transactional systems and the data repository
System Management on one or more of the following systems:
Package deployment, code modification to front end (Java)
Denodo Virtualization Platform
Decision Support systems administration
Tableau (BI Tool- System and License Support)
SAP BOE (BI Tool- System Support and Daily Job Monitoring)
Works with departments and business requirements related to Data management operations support for the eco-system of applications
Serves application & technical resource for systems he/she supports, including coordination of updates & managing change control process and documentation.
Maintains continuous open communication with primary users and project teams with implementation.
Actively participates in application project meetings with users, including design changes.
Assist Senior Specialist with requests and/or components of larger projects with appropriate documentation and status reports
Security and Provisioning
Work with counterpart to ensure provisioning standard and processes are followed.
Add/Remove Users from systems as requested and validate if the request is with in business standards.
Perform periodic audits on request systems access and usage.
Obtain and maintain System and/or reporting tools certifications or training as needed and/or maintain current knowledge via self-study for reporting tools and reporting programming techniques
Respond promptly to all problems keeping in mind the computing environment supports a user community that requires access to business information 24 hours a day / 7 days a week
Education/Years Exp/Skills and Knowledge:
Associate's degree in related discipline such as Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Science or Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
2-3 years of related experience
3 years relevant work experience
3 years of business analysis experience
2 years of system support experience
Proven ability to work professionally and progressively in a matrix organization
Proven business process design and development skills
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven customer service orientation and excellent communication skills
Proven ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Ability and initiative to learn new technologies
Must have an understanding of relational data bases and star schemas
Possess ability to analyze workflow and process build and changes and utilize technology to perform data and process analysis.
Strong documentation and technical writing skills
Experience in working with ticket systems and an understanding of priorities and SLA's
All Microsoft Office (Including Office & Visio)
SQL experience (MSSQL Server)
SAP BOE experience - preferred
Knowledge of data integration and processing including extraction transformation, and loading (ETL) using SSIS (preferred)
Windows Systems (Window Server 2012-2019)
Linux Operating Systems (Linux Redhat 7.X, Centos) (preferred)
Denodo System Administration
