Using Solidworks, design and detail part and assemblies for vacuum deposition equipment. Prior experience in designing capital equipment (solar, automation or other similar industries very helpful). Take projects from conceptual stage through to completion, within the project's scope, schedule, and budget.
Incorporate Design For Manufacturability (DFM) and other best practices into design. Attention to detail is important.
Collaborate and work closely with other mechanical, electrical and software engineers.
Prepare and verify dimensional drawings and Bill of Materials for fabrication. Verify, revise, and update existing drawings reflecting any necessary changes.
Help assemble equipment in the factory as needed along with troubleshooting mechanical and electro-mechanical issues for R&D and production equipment.
Follow design control best practices and version control to maintain accuracy.
Work closely with process control, application groups in the company.
For the most part, travel is not needed except during machine build/support to Hungary or China
Skills Set Required:
Strong knowledge of SolidWorks software and drafting procedures.
Good understanding of Design For Manufacturability (DFM) and ability to generate complete manufacturing drawings.
Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
Working knowledge of the SolidWorks Enterprise PDM management system
Good communication and organizational skills
Be able to independently work on sub-assemblies that are part of large equipment design
Education and years of Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
5+years' experience as Mechanical Engineer.
