The Enterprise Risk Management Analyst supports Cenlar's ERM Governance framework within the operational risk group. The mission of the Operational Risk group is to reduce the frequency and severity of negative events arising from inadequate or failed internal processes or systems, human errors or misconduct, or adverse external events. The Analyst will work with, support, and have interaction with all levels of management, including executives, and with all departments. This position is within the second-line of defense risk function.


Responsibilities:


All Disciplines

  • Supports the ERM program that is designed to proactively and systematically identify, assess, monitor, report and escalate significant operational risks
  • Identifies issues and vulnerabilities by performing trending analysis and risk aggregation, including escalating concerns of significant severity to the department head other senior risk officers
  • Independently aggregates and analyzes risk-based data and package data per stakeholder requirements
  • Performs testing activities from a defined sample, to produce KRI and KPI results, when necessary
  • Independently produces risk-based portfolio level reports or reporting packages, using quantitative and qualitative analytics, in Excel, PowerPoint and Word formats
  • Ensures high quality and report integrity, by self-validating or certifying reports prior to publication or distribution
  • Builds and maintains relationships with key individuals within the organization business teams and use these relationships to execute on risk goals and objectives; provides customer service related to data, risk assessments or general risk-based inquiries
  • Supports department coworkers and meets deadlines, goals and provide superior service to Line 1, Line 2 and Line 3 functions
  • Ensures the Risk and Control Monitoring departments metrics, models, scorecards, etc. processes are executed, consistent, and continue to evolve
  • Assists with the development, maintenance and testing of various risk-based systems and tools, and system-based reports
  • Analyst may be requested on occasion to perform activities related to other risk programs and/or functions, which will provide cross-training and career opportunities
  • Attends internal and external risk management career training and development workshops, courses and certification programs
  • Keeps abreast of developments within the broad area of Risk and look for opportunities to apply them to the company/department goals
  • Provides daily, weekly, and monthly updates to management, as necessary
  • Assists with project support for Risk/Control Monitoring goals/objectives
  • Creates and updates procedures in partnership with R&C Monitoring leaders
  • Assists in the creation of documentation to facilitate training of Risk and Control Monitoring staff
  • Identifies and executes on strategies to drive the maturation of Cenlar's second line of defense programs, including oversight of Cenlar's Centers of Excellence (COEs) and identification, documentation, rollout and tracking of L1 implementation of foundational risks and controls
  • Partner with applicable leaders to continue to improve workflow and reporting concentrated on Issues Management and Risk and Control Self-Assessment activities
  • Works with a cross-functional team in planning, developing and implementing initiatives in order to analyze internal practices, understand the business risk management needs, and research both internal and external solutions for process improvements
  • Partners with the COEs, including applicable Risk designees, to drive the creation of Control Tower Dashboards
  • Creates and updates procedures in partnership with R&C Monitoring leaders


Risk Reporting COE Senior Analyst Discipline

  • Independently develops report and portfolio templates, based on stakeholder requirements
  • Acts as a risk-program training assistant
  • Presents reports and findings to management
  • Helps develop and cross-train other analysts


Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Discipline

  • Primarily responsible for ongoing maintenance and administration of Cenlar's GRC system (ProcessUnity), which supports 12+ modules and risk programs
  • Manages GRC Change Management Tool(s) (SharePoint, etc.) site and process, by vetting changes and ensuring all requirements and approval documentation is obtained
  • Configures and tests changes to GRC system
  • Assist with new module implementations or module reconfigurations
  • Provides advice and guidance on necessary enhancements or changes to the system, to improve end-user experience or system functionality
  • Helps manage ProcessUnity vendor relationship
  • Maintains GRC architecture documentation


Third Party Risk Management

  • Provide second line defense oversight of third party risks, validating and/or escalating, as appropriate, third party risks in alignment with TPRM Policy?
  • Manages Prospective Vendor Pipeline with Procurement and Strategic Vendor Management to ensure appropriate assessment and timely onboarding of new relationships
  • Process, verify and reconcile input documentation related to New and Existing Vendor Changes.
  • Perform escalation and taking appropriate actions for identified deviations to the TPRM Policy where Cenlar and its applicable owners do not operate within the parameters of the policy and program.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or computer science related major
  • 4+ years of experience in banking, audit, risk management, compliance, consulting, project management or computer science, with exposure to operational risk, compliance, controls management, or audit experience (preferably within a mortgage or banking environment)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of third party risk management principles and TPRM governance frameworks
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Outlook

  • Expert level skillset with Excel, including knowing how to aggregate and analyze data that is needed to create reports
  • Ability to take direction, ownership of ones assignments and work independently
  • Ability to coordinate and complete focused projects
  • Ability to understand, speak intelligently and support two or more ERM programs
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Desire to learn and understand processes with an ability to translate what is learned into actionable tasks, recommendations, and output
  • Aptitude to learn and understand sound risk management practices, including and demonstrated understanding of risk management and internal control principles
  • Project management/leadership and/or business analyst experience preferred
  • Possesses critical thinking skills to analyze data and produce meaningful results. This includes being able to comfortably challenge and defend his/her position and work product in a professional manner
  • Act as a role model and resource for other analysts
  • Prior experience working with GRC Systems, preferred
  • Ability to analyze and credibly assess the effectiveness of risk management and internal controls, as well as the operational and financial impact of findings and control issues
  • Ability to recognize and understand how to assess process risks and controls Excellent problem resolution and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Excel and expression writing, which is needed to configure ProcessUnity, or prior system coding experience
  • Understanding of system access and security controls
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively across the organization, with all levels of staff, to ensure that controls are effectively implemented and monitored
  • Entrepreneurial. Ability to work independently as a highly motivated team player and self-starter
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Experience with or strong ability to learn mortgage servicing computer systems
