Design Architect - Security and Compliance at Red River Technology

Job Description:

As a key member of the Design Engineering team, the Design Architect - Security and Compliance role supports our customers with their FedRAMP and CMMC journey. This includes the process to achieve CMMC certification and FedRAMP accreditation, the control frameworks, documentation requirements, security tools, policies, and processes to protect sensitive government information and monitoring technology around the infrastructure and systems hosting the environments.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the security industry and how to position the value of Red River's services combined with our OEM partner products and services. This has a strong focus on security frameworks and compliance environments across the combination or people, process, and technology.


  • Support Red River's Security Practice program and solutions offerings with the SME focus on network security, security management systems, threat & vulnerability programs and best practices.

  • Create advanced demo development and technical showcase of strategic vendors technologies

  • Be technically proficient in the ability to stand up, configure and integrate select network security solutions (as listed in the qualifications)

  • Assist the pre-sales engineering team as a Subject Matter Expert to conduct technical and business decision maker presentations to clients and in preparing solution proposals

  • Stay up to date with market updates and trends, and identify gaps in the market

  • Establish and build relationships between Red River and channel partners

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Service Operations, Delivery Services, Project Management, and Managed Services teams to promote efficient business processes.

  • Assist the field sales teams with the development of security-related proposals and statement of work (SOW) proposals consistent with customer's security objectives and requirements

  • Recommend future technical solutions for Red River security program compliance and objectives around integrated security solution offerings

  • Recommend and support development of innovative technical solutions for Red River Offer Development Program and objectives around integrated solution offerings

  • Perform select larger audience presentations at trade shows, security events and select showcase presentations demonstrating security expertise, thought leadership & network security SME industry expertise.

  • Act as liaison with Professional Services team and provide subject matter expertise and guidance

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10 years hands-on experience with customers

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance

  • Strong understanding of NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-171

  • Familiarity with process to achieve CMMC certification and FedRAMP accreditation

  • Working knowledge of AWS and Azure from an architecture perspective, preferably:

    • AWS GovCloud

    • Microsoft Azure GCC/GCC High

  • Knowledge of security tools and processes as it relates to securing and protecting sensitive government information

  • Strong grasp of monitoring technology, at both the infrastructure and application level

  • Knowledge of specific documentation requirements for FedRAMP P-ATO and ATO processes

  • Ability to articulate a complex shared responsibility model in an environment that takes into account infrastructure, operations, compliance and security

  • Solid working knowledge of hybrid cloud planning, design, implementation and operations

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing and/or operating systems with FedRAMP accreditation

  • CMMC-AB designation or certification (RP, CP, etc.)

  • Experience with Security Operations Center (SOC) tools and processes

  • Familiarity with security incident management

  • ITILv4 Foundation certification

  • CISSP certification
