Design and develop new products or improve current products using engineering disciplines and tools such as IMMI Pro track (IPT), Computer Aided Design and Engineering tools, Test and Validation, Product Release, etc. The goal is to produce products that meet IMMI targets for performance specifications, cost and timing. (On Specification, On Time and On Cost)
The essential functions of this position are as follows:
Use FEA, CAD models, kinematic, dynamic and crash simulation to analyze, evaluate and optimize designs of new components and systems and enhance existing ones through Innovation and cost effective concepts to attain an optimum of quality, value and manufacturability.
Provides guidance to designers/supporting engineers for designs, drawings, requisitions, etc. to meet regulatory, process, mechanical and project requirements.
Assist cross functional teams by developing test, assembly, or other fixtures and machinery as needed.
Work collaboratively to execute projects with various internal competencies i.e. Testing, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality and Finance.
Support Customers with technical information and initiatives. This can include developing and/or creating: design concepts, FEA models, prototypes and technical reports/presentations.
Engage with suppliers and outside contractors to accomplish key outsourcing activities like part sourcing or contract design.
Develop and execute validation testing to qualify designs through the product development process.
Ability to oversee and manage multiple projects at a time and prioritize work.
Gain peer and management product insight through informal and formal design reviews.
Utilize design tools available to maximize development time while ensuring optimal product design.
Fully supports company programs, policies and objectives.
Assist, train and develop the assigned personnel.
3+ years of experience using LS-Dyna for Vehicle simulation and other CAE work.
Strong knowledge of FMVSS standards relevant to occupant safety and crash (e.g., FMVSS 209, 210, 213 etc).
Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).
Experience working on Battery Electrical Vehicles architecture development and related CAE simulations.
Proficient with 3D solid modeling design software, Solidworks preferred.

Collaborative leader and team player.
Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering required and Mastrers is preferred.
3+ years' experience using LS-Dyna and Hyper mesh.
3+ year's vehicle crash and safety experience.
Madymo experience is a plus.
Six Sigma certification preferred.
