The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

The person hired for this position will be providing supervision, planning & scheduling, and technical direction to craftspeople who provide maintenance and repair services on manufacturing machines, systems, and facilities to maximize reliability and runtime of production operations. This position will work a night shift arrangement.
 

As a Plant Engineering Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:


  • Ensuring an adequate number of properly trained craftspeople are available to maintain plant operations by effectively assigning craftspeople to maintenance PM’s and work orders

  • Identifying opportunities for improvement of training, scheduling, safety, operating costs, and other aspects of plant engineering operations

  • Managing employee performance in adherence to site policies and procedures  

  • Working with purchasing, vendors, and engineering to specify, order, and expedite parts and materials

  • Leading or participating on special projects as assigned

  • Willingness to work some weekends and to be on-call

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:


  • Associate degree or higher in mechanical technology, electronics, or other technical discipline relevant to the maintenance of industrial equipment (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Two (2) years of experience as a team leader, supervisor, or manager in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution

  • LSS BB or MBB experience

  • Experience as a mechanic, electrician, machinist, or engineer in an industrial facility

  • Demonstrated abilities using MS Office, maintenance management systems, and other computer-based programs related to managing operations

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data to determine effectiveness of operations

Travel: Limited Domestic Travel

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
