POSITION SUMMARY

The Machine Learning Senior Advisor provides expert content/professional leadership on complex Machine Learning assignments/projects. Contributes to the design and implementation of creative software solutions for a broad range of problems. Demonstrates strong knowledge of NLP and ML prior art. Imports the latest NLP/ML/Deep learning techniques from industry and academia, and identifies the best tradeoffs for their application. Works with product management to make sure solutions address all requirements. Assures quality and integrity of data collected, performs technical analysis, and appropriate testing completed. Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and develops methods for improving internal techniques and processes. Exercises creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering initiatives. Leverages breadth and depth of professional knowledge to advise functional leaders in a clear and concise manner. Focuses on providing thought leadership within Data Science but works on broader projects, which require understanding of wider business. Recognized internally as a subject matter expert.

Primary Functions

• Performance and tuning of Machine Learning Algorithms (i.e., clustering, linear regression, decision tree, LSTM, CNN, random forest, Bayesian Belief Networks, NLP, and Deep Learning, etc.)


• Collaborating with other analytics teams to provide scalable, reusable frameworks and solutions


• Collaborating with Hadoop/Cloud foundational team to provide solutions that leverage the computing resources efficiently


• Presenting analytical results and operational solutions to peers and leadership


• Develops prototype algorithms and executing pilot programs to determine operational viability


• Develops operational analytics solutions providing insight into member experience and member behaviors to support Member Retention and improve Member Experience


• Eliciting requirements from stakeholder for operational analytics needs

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; Master's/MBA preferred


• 6 years relevant experience preferred


• Advanced experience (non-academic) with analytics tools and languages (e.g., Python, R, PySpark, Scala, Spark, Hive, SQL, Map Reduce, Tableau, Unix/Linux)


• Demonstrated experience mentoring junior level data scientists and machine learning engineers


• Proven track record of critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and working independently and on teams


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, can clearly and concisely articulate problem, solutionsExc
