Typically Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; additional hours may be required based on departmental needs.

Job Summary

The Employment Consultant Senior will provide leadership, consultation and a high-level of customer service to support staff hiring efforts within UK HealthCare. The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Consulting - Serves as the lead hiring and selection consultant for UK HealthCare. Proactively builds and maintains strong working relationships with hiring departments to provide resources and tools to support recruitment and selection. This can include coaching, training, developing search specific resources, and recommending hiring best practices. Partner with hiring officials and UK HealthCare leadership to develop recruitment plans to assist in meeting the University's strategic plan and diversity goals. This position will lead trainings on general hiring principles, unconscious bias, and other selection best practices.

Supervision - Supervises Employment Consultants and Employment Specialists who support UK HealthCare's staff hiring efforts. This will include hiring, coaching, and performance management, with guidance from the HR Employment Manager.

Service Development and Organizational Improvement - Contributes to the continuous improvement of the department's services by actively leading projects and work groups. This position will focus on process improvements in both department and University hiring processes.

Customer Service - Provides exceptional customer service directly to hiring officials to support staff posting and hiring processes. Ensure overall turnaround times are meeting customer expectations. Uses resources to problem solve all escalated issues and seeks to eliminate any and all hiring barriers for the hiring department and applicants. Serves as liaison with other Human Resources departments to assist customers.

Compliance - Collaborate with appropriate employment team members and hiring departments to ensure all posting and selection requirements are adhered to as outlined by University policies and procedures, relevant state and federal employment laws, and department standard operating procedures (SOPs). This position will create standard operating procedures and evaluate existing SOPs for effectiveness.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The ideal candidate must have the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships, effectively influence, coach and train hiring departments and provide leadership and problem solving. This individual must possess professional knowledge of hiring and selection techniques and quickly be able to gain an understanding of the business operations of distinct units of the University. The successful individual will deliver superior customer service focus, have excellent communication skills (written and verbal), attention to detail, planning and organization, information monitoring and analysis and presentation skills. We are seeking a collaborative, innovate individual with a strong respect for diversity and high emotional intelligence which are all keys to success in this position.

Preferred Education/Experience

Prefer Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field. Prefer several years of experience and a proven track record in hiring and selection coaching and/or consultation. Experience with Targeted Selection is a plus.
