Purpose & Scope

The Merchandising Specialist plays a critical role in helping to determine what products we sell to distributors worldwide and how we position, price and promote them to drive revenue. The ideal candidate will leverage advanced analytical skills coupled with deep business process design experience to (a) define our merchandising methodology across each product line and region and (b) drive its implementation.

This fast-paced position will also engage cross functionally to support critical elements of our digital customer transformation strategy and develop / execute distribution and merchandising business processes.

Responsibilities:


  • Design and scale the aftermarket merchandising methodology to deliver an optimal aftermarket offering at a regional level, while minimizing pricing exposure and back-office maintenance.

  • Develop greater understanding of aftermarket buying behaviors and optimization of offering through data mining and analytics.

  • Define and manage rule sets for substitution, related parts / bundling, preferred parts, etc. while leveraging best practices to optimize the distributor buying experience.

  • Manage projects associated with deployment of regional offering, with pricing, e-commerce, and channel management teams.

  • Identify and implement complementary functionality, e.g. online quoting capability.

  • Launch and/or enhance systems and business processes to facilitate periodic refreshes of offering.

  • Lead creation, distribution, maintenance, and quality control of distributor price file working closely with pricing, channel management and distributors to ensure information is released on-time with accuracy.

  • Provide subject matter expertise counsel and support to recently-acquired companies to help them apply merchandising logic to their product portfolios.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Analytics or Engineering with 12 years post qualification experience in distribution/channel management and/or merchandising OR

  • Master's Degree in Business, Marketing or Analytics with 10 years post qualification experience in distribution/channel management and/or merchandising.

Technical/Functional Skills:


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, SQL, Data Services, Power Bi, general database structure, and integration

  • Logical, process-oriented thinking

  • Strong analytical and process documentation skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to derive insight

  • Advanced data retrieval and manipulation skills
