Roving Inspector

SUMMARY:

To help knitters and fixers find machines that are making defects and have it corrected.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Check socks for defects through each line assigned, machine by machine


• Flag machine if defects found, by marking defective area with washable marker and placing on machine.


• Record defects by type and machine number on clip board form at end of lines


• Notify supervisor of a repeated defect on the same machine


• Make sure face card information and yarn matches machine style


• Turn in paperwork at end of shift


• Use sock stick provided to retrieve socks from funnels during checks when needed


• Keep continuous checking until designated break times


• Other duties assigned by management are a part of this job description


• Adhere to company policies, including attendance and punctuality


• Communicate with co-workers, management and others in a courteous and professional manner;


• Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions including but not limited to confidentiality requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

• Basic education in reading, writing & mathematics


• Good communication skills and work well with others


• Basic knowledge of computer


• Basic knowledge of defects common in socks

Consistent daily attendance required; occasional off-shift support and limited travel required.
