The Flap Brush Operator 899 is responsible for following procedures for product assembly/fabrication, equipment operation, and safety requirements as documented in the company's training and quality systems.  Performs set-ups, makes adjustments, and operates production equipment such as Flap-brush Press, Core Coater, Core Cutter, Slitter, and Flap-brush Chopper. Maintains acceptable quality and productivity levels which meet department standards. Works independently with minimal supervision. Operator is also responsible for handling/assembling raw materials, such as Semi Finish Jumbos, Slit Material, Cores, and Epoxy Resins; work in process and finished goods. Employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation.

• Follow safe work procedures and safety policies including the usage of personal protective equipment. 


• Uses computer systems as appropriate within department to perform job functions


• Operate machinery to include, but not limited to Flap Brush press, Coater, Chopper, Slitter, and Post-Cure Ovens

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution


• Available for weekend work, working overtime, rotating shifts, and/or short notice shift coverage

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in manufacturing and/or warehouse in a private, public, government, or military environment


• Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing work environment


• Ability to communicate, oral and written, effectively

• Experience handling hazardous waste material
