Overview

Tandon's new collaborative learning initiative is looking for an experienced innovative Senior Instructional Designer. This initiative will bridge the gap between academia and industry to provide targeted learning experiences, co-created with industry experts, that address skills gaps and emerging technologies and opportunities across engineering and technology fields. In the development of these new programs, the Collaborative Learning Center will connect faculty and research from across Tandon’s departments and labs with industry innovators, providing a platform for the creation and dissemination of new educational programs that highlight Tandon’s key research areas. Initial programs will focus on professional development programs with Tandon’s Interactive Design and Media (IDM) and senior executive education programs in information security, cybersecurity, software architecture, and technology management.

This position will primarily be responsible for managing programs within NYU Tandon’s portfolio of non-degree certificate courses made in partnership with an online course delivery partner. The role will include coordinating on the development and design of online short courses on a variety of topics including information security, technology, software architecture, coding and application development, and finance and technology. This is accomplished through the application of evidence-based pedagogy, knowledge of educational technology tools and systems, and effective implementation of project management practices. Senior Instructional Designers serve as a consultant to faculty with regard to analyzing learning needs, application of various instructional design models and delivery systems to meet those needs, and tools to achieve and measure student learning outcomes. Select appropriate learning theories; develop course and program assessment methods; create of engaging instructional activities; meet accessibility and compliance requirements, and evaluate and effective use of innovative instructional technologies.

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree

Required Experience:
5+ years

Preferred Experience:
5+ years Digital content production, Higher Education or Professional Development experience.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Demonstrated experience in instructional design. Demonstrated experience with online learning programs and initiatives. Excellent computer skills, including Google suite, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience with software for project planning, budgeting, and management.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Technology industry and software engineering practices
