Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Continuous Improvement Teams design and implement programs and projects to improve products, services, or processes aligned with business strategies. They coach teams; establish program performance metrics; and establish process excellence supports.

This is a 1st shift part time position (40 hours per week) within the "Technician" family job description in the 3101 Fulling Mill Road 3D Printing and Prototyping Center.

Successful candidate is expected to have a high level of hand / eye coordination and dexterity. Perform various duties in the 3D Printing area including but not limited to starting and stopping multiple machines, programing machines, removing parts from machines, chemically cleaning of parts, removing parts from trays and removing structural supports from parts (using scrapers, files and hand sanding), fitting parts together and for the purpose of proving engineering concepts and producing customer samples and working closely with requestors on innovative ideas using 3D Printing. This is a fast pace environment and could be highly stressful. Change is inevitable almost on a daily basis.

As necessary will assign work to others, monitor through-put of jobs and prioritize work as necessary. Working overtime may be required to meet specific due dates. Computer data input will be also required to track completed jobs. Monitor inventory of stocked items and places orders as needed.

This is a progressive job where candidate will be able to build on their skills and have the opportunity for additional learning to advance within this area, programming, technology, etc. Work close with engineering on innovative ways to redesign current designs into Additive Manufacturing designs. Not be afraid of failure and be positive upon trying for good results.

Cad skills is a must. Spaceclaim and Cero is a plus. Must be able to work as a team. Reporting of projects and technologies. Sometimes in front of large numbers audiences. Must be able to keep one self-busy and not always expectation of direction. Must have good housekeeping skills. Must be flexible for presentations to business units. All work time needs to be recorded and submitted by the work order system provided. Implement and help reach each level of TEOA.

Qualifications:


*Candidate must have a college education or equivalent. Must have demonstrated excellent communication skills and needs to be able to interface with all levels of engineering, technicians, management and Temporary Agency employees.
*Candidate must have shown ability to work with minimal supervision.
*Because this is a very fast paced environment the candidate must have demonstrated the ability to quickly understand and execute verbal instructions, with requirements being changed at a moment's notice.
*Must have demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team on larger jobs. Must be open minded with good listening skills and willingness to accept other opinions regarding the processing of prototype samples.
*Must be able to work with a multitude of hand tools (scrapers, files, specialty tools and hand sanding) sometimes on tedious cleaning operations using a microscope for long periods of time.
*Must demonstrate a high level of visual acuity and hand dexterity to manipulate parts when removing non functional "support" structures from delicate prototype parts.
*Must be able to safely work with various hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals using Environmental, Health and Safety protocols to protect self, others and the environment. Must be able to mix chemicals to required ratios and dispense for secondary processing. Good housekeeping practices are essential.
*Will sometimes train temporary Agency employees to do similar cleaning tasks, evaluate their skill level and monitor their work for quality if needed.
*Solid computer skills are a plus, MS Outlook, Excel and Word. Any 3D Printing programing is a plus.
*Must be able to document procedures and do reports.
*Blog on the Additive Manufacturing web site to inform other TE personal on progress in the working area.
*Innovative skills are a must, be creative with 3D Printing. Support others who do not have this skill.
*Change out large batches of chemicals from processing tanks of required.
* Must work with interns and local community collages when needed.
*Travel to other TE plants and promote/support 3D Printing when needed.
*Must have high skill level of Power Point for promoting 3D Printing.
*Must have at least one year experience in the Additive Manufacturing area.
*Must have FDM/SLA/DLP experience
*Experience in CAD design for 3D printing
*Must have lead skills in leading a team and handling confrontation within a team
*Must be able to report all hours of work daily
*Must be able to work with and support remote 3D Printing center.
*Ability to operate shop machines is a plus.
*The ability of doing newsletters is a plus.
*Complete training on time if required
*The ability to handle a high level of stress at this fast/changing pace.
*The ability to take direction from direct management
*Must be able to program and operate every technology in the department
*Must be able to train others in the department
*Work with other business units to assist in their needs
*Inspect projects and work directly with customer to give the best quality
*TEOA outline SWI and enforce operational procedures.
*Have a broad knowledge of programming languages like HTML, PHP, ect...
*Keep on top of newest AM technologies and report anything new and exciting
