Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

Baker Electric is looking for a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor for our Escondido, CA warehouse! Come join a leader in the industry!! As a Shipping & Receiving Supervisor you will work with direction from the Director of the Warehouse to ensure the accuracy and timelines of daily shipments, received shipments, and inventory maintenance. As the Shipping and receiving Supervisor you will be leading process for what is required to ensure the accurate and timely shipping of shipments, inventory, and warehousing work in process and the receipt of material and supplies. This is a hands-on role balancing the floor and also takes responsibility for the organization and maintenance of the warehouse.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 



  • Conduct regular inventory reconciliations/audits to ensure proper quantities, locations, and descriptions.

  • Validate all inbound/outbound shipping packers and shipping notices.

  • Oversee at least one shipping clerk.

  • Responsible for hand off and loading operations with warehouse staff.

  • Communicates regularly, via phone and email with PM’s, Foreman and Pre-Fabrication departments.

  • Maintains a clean and organized shipping/receiving area. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt at least preferred.

  • Process shipments via UPS, FedEx, and USPS both domestic and international.

  • Exhibit proficiency with EDI programs and processes.

  • Perform inventory functions to maintain integrity of the system.

  • Receive shipments which includes, racking, dispersing, and/or storing them accordingly.

  • Maintain clean and organized warehouse and storage areas.

  • Participate in the restocking of material and supplies.

  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION:



  • Electrical product experience preferred.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

  • 4+ years of prior shipping experience or warehouse experience.

  • Must know Electrical parts including but not limited to lighting, gear, sensors, wire, and controls.

  • Understanding of Lean Principles – Lean Certified a plus!

  • Forklift Certified.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Demonstrate ability to lead and motivate your team.

  • Team player and team builder with a positive coaching and mentoring mindset.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent Customer Service.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS


The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials. Will lift materials typically 50 pounds of less.
