Product Manager I- Remote at Delta Dental of California

The Product Manager is responsible for championing all stages of the delivery life cycle, which include building relationships with key business owners, execution strategy against roadmaps, strategic sequencing of initiatives, epic and feature development, and definition of measurable outcomes and key performance indicators (KPIs).

How you will make an impact:


  • Responsible for the detailed facilitation and technology delivery of specific business outcomes.

  • Manages day-to-day requirements, programs, and special features while working cross-functional business stakeholders across Growth, Operations, Technology, Finance, Legal, and People.

  • Deeply understands customers, technology, and competition, and synthesizes into the executable roadmaps driving business outcomes through technology enablement and innovation.

  • Works closely with technology, and business stakeholders to craft simple, elegant, impactful experiences.

  • Analyzes metrics that inform the success of products.

  • Integrates user research, customer research analytics and insights into requirements.

  • Participates in standups, retrospectives, design reviews, user research, and demos.

  • Drives the overall vision and success across technology delivery teams, including both agile scrum teams and existing systems support teams.

  • Organizes Sprint Planning & Grooming ceremonies at the team level.

  • Determines if iteration outcome is acceptable from functional/non-functional aspects.

  • Coordinates and drives team to ensure a efficient & productive daily stand-up takes place and provides input into product backlog prioritization.

  • Prepares solid product definition and ensures all required artifacts are developed.

  • Creates stories/tasks and assigns to the scrum team.

  • Flags dependencies & risks for the stories/features.

What we look for:


  • Ability to effectively and actively communicate with both business and technical stakeholders.

  • Strong deductive reasoning and attention to detail.

  • Strong sense of customer service to consistently and effectively addresses customer needs.

  • High comfort level interacting with colleagues and with various levels of client organizations.

  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects in a fast-paced & dynamic environment under tight timelines, while adaptive to change.

  • Ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential information and adhere to data security and confidentiality protocols and procedures.

  • 3+ years of relevant product management experience.

  • Knowledge of Agile software development framework, architecture concepts, and terminology.

  • Experience and/or accreditation in Scaled Agile a plus.

  • BA/BS or equivalent practical experience.

  • Require IT product management experience.

  • Prefer people management experience.

Due to COVID-19, there is an even greater demand for flexibility and change. As Delta Dental navigates our Return-to-Office strategy, the expectation around work location for certain roles may be offsite until a future date, determined by Delta Dental Management.
