Job Description:

The Quality Engineer role will implement, monitor, and improve the quality of our operational processes and products. The role will focus with the local leadership, Quality team, Program Management, Purchasing and Engineering to manage and facilitate change implementation into the manufacturing product and processes at the manufacturing plant.  The role will ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards and drive continuous improvement. 

Responsibilities:


  • Manage the change process to Dana operating standards.    

  • Ensure the documentation needed to implement changes is in place at the right quality level, including PPAPs, PFMEAs, Control Plans and product drawings.

  • Participate in cross functional teams for developing PFMEAs, control plans and work instructions, utilizing risk assessments to ensure process controls deliver continuous improvement and customer satisfaction 

  • Assess MSA’s and capability studies for PPAP of new and current gages and equipment.

  • Assist with process improvements and data analysis

  • Conduct process capability studies and quality audits

  • Conduct and participate in customer visits and reviews to implement change.

  • Other duties as required

Skills Required:


  • Proficient understanding of PPAP requirements.

  • Experience with FMEAs, Process Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions.

  • Proficient in Stellantis (FCA) and/or Ford application systems to track and execute change with the customers. 

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Strong project management skills and leadership abilities

  • Working knowledge of customer portals and applications

  • Proficient in the understanding of Engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications

  • Proficient in understanding of APQP and program management techniques

Typical Experience Required/Preferred:


  • Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical engineering, with 2-5 years of experience required.


    • Work experience in lieu of degree will be considered.



  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, with experience in the automotive industry preferred.

  • Demonstrated competence in Quality related statistics.

  • Certified Quality Auditor for IATF-16949 preferred, or attained within one year of hire/placement.

  • Must be capable of performing duties with limited supervision.
