Your day.

As a Practice Manager of Primary Care and Occupational Medicine, you need to know how to:


  • Oversee the day to day activities within the assigned clinic, including managing schedules, daily staffing and float coverage, patient access, continuity, clinic flow, reinforcing policies and procedures, patient safety and supervision of front line staff.
  • Supervise the daily operations in the clinic. Build strong partnership with local clinic physician leadership. Optimize clinic workflows. Act as a resource in the daily operations and activities of the department.
  • Coordinate daily work schedules including management of daily staffing and float coverage. Oversees active schedule management to balance patient access, schedule utilization, and continuity. Manage prior authorization and referral processes.
  • Support clinic leadership team in problem solving to address issues relating to patient safety, care and service. Promote effective working relationships and works effectively as part of clinic team to facilitate meeting its goals and objectives. Assist in development of capital planning and operating budgets.
  • Work with clinic teams on quality initiatives and managing quality metrics. Collaborate with the leadership team and physician leader to identify and drive quality and performance improvement initiatives. Support associate engagement and patient satisfaction outcomes.
  • Assist with Human Resource management functions including interviewing, selection, orientation, education/training, feedback, performance evaluation, and policy and procedure development. Maintain and monitors Kronos records for employees.
  • Direct and coordinate training of new employees.
  • Create a culture of patient safety including documenting and reporting any PEARL event. Maintain audits for medication safety. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines, and licensure, compliance and accreditation requirements. Ensure compliance with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Partner with physicians around panel management. Maintain records regarding patient linking, population health, and care gap closure.

Your experience.

  • High School diploma required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory-level experience, including at least two (2) years of practice management or practice administrator experience, required
