PACCAR's Information Technology Division (ITD), located in Renton, WA utilizes technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications services to the entire Corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector.


Requisition Summary

PACCAR is a global truck technology leader with operations around the world. The Digital Solutions team is helping PACCAR make better decisions faster by moving to the cloud, adopting DevOps/CICD best practices, and unlocking a new level of productivity & value. We are looking for technology leaders to drive this evolution.

The Cloud Engineer is a highly motivated, results-oriented professional. They will focus on the design, engineering, and launch of open source, Linux-based storage solutions and AWS-based products and services. The Cloud Engineer will also focus on improving the stability and performance of the system. They will do this by maintaining and improving the security posture of the systems, continuous monitoring of system health, and troubleshooting issues that arise.

Job Functions / Responsibilities


  • Works with System Engineers, Developers, Architects, and DevOps engineers to design and implement automated solutions with CI/CD Pipelines for infrastructure and software build, deployment, and configuration.

  • Strong experience using AWS resource technologies to develop and deploy hybrid and no-hybrid enterprise solutions.

  • Possess strong RESTful API design, including API versioning, backward compatibility, and authentication.

  • Contribute towards automation/configuration management using Docker, Terraform, Jenkins, or an equivalent.

  • Maintain code and scripting version control repositories and related systems supporting initiatives around "infrastructure as code". GitHub and Azure DevOps

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems with the build, deployment, and continuous integration process.

  • Leverage scripting languages to build automated solutions and integrations on an ad-hoc basis. Languages often include Python, Terraform, AWS Cloud formation.

  • Problem Solving in its many forms, from epic to the mundane.

  • Reduce complexity wherever possible - Automate the handling of it everywhere else.

  • Design and Document Cloud Architecture Solutions.

  • Compose Root Cause Analysis Reports

  • Ensures security is integrated into all architecture solutions to meet compliance standards.

  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.

Qualifications & Skills


  • Demonstrated experience with IaaS and SaaS solutions design, development and deployment in an AWS environment

  • Experience with multi-petabyte storage implementations using open source storage technologies.

  • CI/CD experience a plus.

  • Dev-Ops experience a plus.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, including active listening, problem solving when under pressure, and facilitation

Education

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent is strongly preferred.
