The Opportunity

Looking for an experienced Automotive Applications Engineer to join Marvell's Automotive business unit, working with cross functional teams and provide technical support to FAEs and customers. A self-starter with a can-do attitude that can apply PHY and Switching knowledge to address new Automotive Applications.

Inbound activities:


  • As product collateral owner, generate white papers, applications notes, and apply project management to track and deliver all aspects of product collateral.

  • Collaborate with systems team to generate development board schematics, supervise layout review, and generate user manuals for various development boards.

  • Stay up to date with Automotive support demands and become the primary Automotive PHY transceiver support and generate training material.

Outbound activities:


  • Troubleshoot and debug customers issues and help with customer board bring up. Actively monitor and answer support tickets.

  • Maintain records of customer support engagements throughout the customer's development lifecycle.

  • Generate automotive demos showcasing Marvell's Automotive networking solutions of secure switch and PHY family.

Need to have:


  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in applications engineering, board development, or system level design and architecture

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of Ethernet Transceivers, Ethernet Switching, and networking architectures.

  • Worked with schematic capture tools and layout tools.

  • Knowledge of high speed SerDes (*GMII, XFI/SFI, PCIe) protocols

  • Knowledge of Automotive MDI interfaces 100Base-T1, 1000Base-T1, NBASE-T1 (multi-gig)

  • Experience with FW and API support and are comfortable with ARM based platforms.

  • Knowledge of a programming language: C or Python.

  • Experience with lab debug equipment including oscilloscope and network analyzer.

Great to Have:


  • Automotive EMC testing experience.

  • Automotive experiences working with OEMs, Tier1s, and automotive quality teams.

  • Have worked with functional safety analysis, FMEA, and FMEDA.

  • Working experience with MACSec, TSN, PTP, AVB.
