The Team:
Our Product Experience team - Design, Information, and Insights - focuses on our customers and their business needs. We contribute from the concept all the way to the building of world-class product experiences by partnering with Product Managers, Program Managers, Software Engineers and other cross-functional teams. Together, we are a team of craftspeople who aim to make the complex look easy. We employ insights, pixels, and words to solve big problems and make delightful experiences.


This Position:
An Information Experience UI copywriter acts as an integral partner with our design, product management and engineering teams, the roll focuses on making the product easy to adopt and helping our users learn to better use DocuSign to power their businesses. They own DocuSign's direct written communication and standards for users within the product user interface. They help shape the in-product information direction for our products.


They create engaging informational product experiences for our customers. They thrive while writing original copy and collaborating with a driven and in partnership with Product Design, Product Management and others. They are passionate about developing an engaging voice and using data and testing to improve the customer experience.


This position is an individual contributor and reports to Manager of UI Writing and is designated Flex.


Responsibilities:
* Design information flows and copy web and/or mobile applications
* Partner with UX Designers to work on creation of information flows within complex workflows from concept, wireframes, prototypes and style guides
* Collaborate with the UX designers to create a cohesive cross-product experience including contributing to the UX style guide and update and maintain the product copy standards and guidelines.
* Write new copy for the DocuSign interface across platforms, including UI labels, feature naming, and informational and instructional in-app direct user communication (e.g. new-user onboarding, service updates, account information).
* Work with User Research to identify opportunities where research can inspire, optimize or evaluate the information design; in the absence of research, use data and have an intuition for what will work well
* Work with Product Managers to identify OKRs for educational interactions
* Revisit existing product copy in an effort to constantly refine DocuSign user communications.
* As steward of DocuSign's in-product copy, you'll help drive clarity and consistency in tone, terminology and establish a systematic approach for all in-product copy that follows a coherent set of rules.
* Run recurring copy reviews and own the overall process that incorporates feedback from multiple stakeholders across DocuSign, driving toward approvals from senior product and design managers.
* Serve as a resident UI copy expert, collaborating and provide coaching for designers, writers, PMs and engineers as appropriate.
* Archive product copy decisions, establishing and referring back to precedents in order to maintain consistent communication with DocuSign customers.
* Facilitate negotiations and agreement on terminology and UI copy across levels with cross-functional departments.


Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
* At least 2 years of experience in high-tech industry, preferably SaaS
* At least 1 year of experience in UI copywriting, technical writing or UX/product design


Preferred Qualifications:
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Capacity to work on cross-functional projects
* Additional experience in any of the following areas a plus: workshop facilitation; program management, terminology, marketing collateral or web copy
