Job Summary

The Director, Business Development reports to the VP of Business Development and leads key strategic pursuits to win new business. The Director, Business Developmentwill have experience across the entire business development lifecycle, to include opportunity identification and qualification, call plan development and execution, strategic capture management, and proposal development expertise.

Specific Responsibilities



  • Lead business development pursuits from opportunity identification to proposal submission, to include qualification, call plan development and execution, strategic capture management, and proposal development.




  • Engage directly with potential customers to identify key POCs and develop customer intimacy in regard to pain points, hot buttons, and future mission plans.




  • Manage internal and external stakeholders and teammates and work closely with the Proposal Manager to develop bid strategies that are both compelling to the customer and compliant with RFP requirements.




  • Develop and present capture plans, gate reviews, and proposal plans to the executive team.




  • Formulate teaming strategy, structure, and select teammates based on an analytical assessment of OSG's capabilities against customer hot buttons, solicitation task areas, and the competitive landscape.




  • Write sections of proposals as needed.




  • Be actively involved with Price to Win discussions and work with the Pricing Lead to develop a winning cost proposal.




  • Participate in color team reviews.



Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree (business related degree, or other equivalent industry work experience preferred).




  • 8-12 years of experience leading business development pursuits within the Federal market space, with a focus on DoD and IC customers.




  • Experience managing long term strategic captures in addition to short turn task order responses. Familiarity with large IDIQ vehicles such as OASIS is a plus.




  • Excellent written communication skills, specifically in regard to writing Executive Summaries, Cost Narratives, and other key proposal elements.




  • Shipley Business Development and/or APMP Proposal Management training and certifications.




  • Working knowledge of SBA and FAR rules and regulations.




  • Experience managing pipelines in Salesforce or other CRMs.




  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.




  • Ability to pass drug screening and Federal Government criminal background check with no felony records.




  • Possess current, valid driver's license (not under suspension or limitation).




  • The Ideal Candidate will:



    • Have experience in a small to mid-sized business environment identifying, qualifying, and driving new business pursuits in the Federal market through the entire business development lifecycle.




    • Have the ability to wear multiple hats and manage a diverse portfolio of new business pursuits.




    • Be a true team player, ready to assist others in the growth organization as needed to ensure departmental success.
