The Product Development Analyst is responsible for the development and support of the Alight platforms and related auxiliary software products. This individual will be involved in all aspects of the development life cycle of these products, from requirements to development, to testing, to release (including formal communication of released items to appropriate parties). The Product Development Analyst will also assist with ongoing product-related support, including both new feature/enhancement requests and software fixes.

This position is available anywhere in the US, with a preference for candidates located in Dallas, TX.

Primary job duties and responsibilities:


  • Create technical requirements documentation for new products and/or new features and enhancements to existing products.

  • Facilitate life-cycle development and provide support to affiliated internal groups (such as Product Development, Quality Assurance, etc.) regarding the development, testing, and release of new products and/or new features and enhancements to existing products.

  • Create formal internal and external release documentation and/or training material related to new products and/or new features and enhancements to existing products.

  • Manage various product-related projects from beginning to end, oftentimes working with multiple groups and a predetermined delivery schedule.

  • Work with Product Management to evaluate scope and to provide development and testing guidance for new features and enhancements.

  • Work with Business Operations to evaluate client requirements, determine feasibility and priority of client requests, and provide creative solutions.

  • Assist with Quality Assurance testing on an as-needed basis.

Knowledge & Skills:


  • 1 - 3 years of relevant job experience

  • Pro-actively works on his/her/their own development and serves as a role model for those on his/her/their team

  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback

  • Ability to think critically and develop creative approaches for product development, ensuring the platform meets/exceeds client expectations

  • Ability to anticipate the needs of end-users to ensure a robust solution

  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Benefits Administration industry. Experience in a Platform Delivery or Data Analyst role is preferred.

  • Excellent project management, time management, planning, organization, and multi-tasking skills is required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Experience with SQL Server is beneficial.

  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks, manage competing priorities, and complete tasks on-time in a high-pressure environment

  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact/work within own and other teams

  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements

  • Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Computer Science, or other benefits-related field preferred
